I was born and grew up in Coburg, Germany. From 1979 to 1987 I studied philosophy, psychology, and German literature in Munich, and after I completed my different programs I moved to Berkeley, California. My early years in California were transformative for me, because I discovered the computer industry, Silicon Valley as it took off, and the American way of life. In 1993 I returned to the University in order to continue my studies in clinical psychology, philosophy, and theology. I received a Doctoral degree from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley in 2001. Currently, I teach philosophy at the California State University of the East Bay, and I also work as a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in Oakland, California. My official therapy website will give you some more information about my clinical work. My current interests include: - Human Rights and Political Philosophy, - Philosophical approaches to the concept of infinity, - Quantum mechanics and the mind, - Time itself; and: - the last seminars of Jacques Lacan. | |
