Reason and the Subject of Philosophy. This paper examines the outcome of the crisis in philosophical thinking that was diagnosed by many philosophers at the beginning of the 20th century. It traces  the relationship between rationality and subjectivity, and suggests that the concept of the person offers us a basis for the re-orientation of the philosophy of the subject. (Nov 2001)

Subject, Ego, Person: The Religious Roots of  Our Concept of the "Person." In this short essay, I argue that the difference between "something" and "someone" has led to the elaboration of a secularized concept of the "person", which emerged from the theological reflections that attempted to explain the dual nature of Jesus Christ as Man and God. (Written in August and September of 2001.)

Thinking and Being - Lacan versus Parmenides.  Starting from two opposite epistemological strategies - the identity of thinking and being versus their juxtaposition, I discuss the consequences of these approaches for the question of truth. (Spring 2000)

Freud on Religion. I show the interdependencies between Freud's views on religion and psychoanalytic theory. The attempt to analyze religion becomes a motor for psychoanalytic theorization. (Summer 1999)

Theology from Freud to Lacan . A very short summary of their arguments on religion. (Fall of 2000)
